I’m new to this forum. What is the best way to burn a CD. I’m looking for best sound, not fastest speed. I am using EAC to rip and have been using Nero 6 Enterprise Edition for burning. Does this need to be updated or should I look at something else.
Also would like to use a graphic equalizer to compile some party CD’s. I think Nero has this facility but I don’t know how to access it.
Since the sound is digital, you should get an identical copy when ripping and reburning.
Just be sure to rip to WAV (not mp3 nor any other format, since they’re lossy - google for lossy compression if you don’t know the term). wav is lossless. All the wavs ripped together should amount to the size of the CD.
For ripping use CDex. It’s freeware.
For burning, nero’s fine. Make an audio CD, but just be sure to be using wav for your source, not mp3.
If you actually want to mix or edit the sound, then use something like audacity (also freeware).
