every time i put my photo card thing in to my computer it shuts it down in like 30 sec and im getting really pissed off

hmmmm...........did you see any knid of error message before shut down.......or blue screen.........
i think you have a IRQ error..........you should insert your photo card in an other usb port.........if that doesn’t work.......rply soon..........
Maybe the hardware is not compatible, try another USB port, and you should put your card in another computer to check whether the same problem will happen.
