Im having alot of trouble getting this codec to work. I get audio for my .avi files but no video. The same problem is true to streaming movies through a web browser. However i did download a program that detects the codec you need for a specific file, then previews it and the file worked flawlessly there, so im assuming that the codec is somewhere on my computer but WMP cant find it. I tried both WMV9 packs from microsoft and they didnt work. Any ideas? 
Why you give yourself hard time is WMP? Never was and won’t be a good player.Here is a link to download better players like VLC,BSplayer and Media Classic.All of them use their own codecs: http://www.free-codecs.com/ Also Zoom is not a bad one.
