while watching internet tv ,in the error messages i get a common line that says unknown codec h264 where can iget this? 
The decoder in VLC is built-in and not accessible to Windows or Windows applications (WMP, Movie Maker, Media Center).
Try ffdshow-tryouts instead: http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/
maybe your vlc is too old
new vlc has h264 built in.
I have a 32 bit vista home premium lapotp, I only have music I have ripped from CD’s I bought in my media player. Lately every song plays fantastic until very near the end and then there is a skip, I started using media center and it worked fine for a couple days and then it started skiping near the end of songs. I deleated all music and re ripped and I still have the same problem. I would like some advice.
