Vivitar Camera

When I try to download my videos from my ViviCam 8320 camera, it won’t work when i TRY TO open the AVI files. The computer freezes. Someone told me I need a CODEC. Not knowing anything about this, can someone help me with this. Thanks

I’d be curious as to the specs of the videos produced by the ViviCam 8320. I couldn’t find it on the Vivitar site. Use gspot to find those. I’m particularly interested in the video codec (usually denoted by its fourcc - four character code).
