Lazyshooter, I have the same Camera and experienced the exact same symptoms on a similar mac system with Quick Time. White Screen with audio. I jumped through so many hoops trying to resolve this frustrating issue. I finally came across a simple application that will convert your .avi files to DivX, please see the following quote from a previous post. If you are interested in this app let me know at the enclosed email address. Goodluck, MacZulu

Bridget, I tried also, the site must have closed down. It is not SEDG codec that I can get you. What I found and that works great for me is a small application that converts your .avi video files to .DivX files, actually it makes a copy of them. It’s a breeze to use, it takes a little time but considering you now get to watch your videos it’s worth it. I have the SC -X105L that this guy savino is writing about. Anyone interested in this .avi to DivX converter application can e-mail me a cribis2@mac.com. Good Luck and Happy Shooting, Z

E.J. Guest | I got a hold of Samsung Tech off the 1-800 number provided to get my problem fixed. I haven’t had any problems since. I’m just extremely disappointed with the camera picture quality and never use the still shot feature because the pictures suck. The MP3 player works but even with a 1G card you just don’t hold many songs. So it works well as a really expensive voice recorder and a convenient helmet cam with grainy picture quality.

MacZulu Guest | Codytza, I have the application you are looking for>avi2Divx.jar< If you would like me to e-mail it to you send a request to cribis2@mac.com
E.J. I totally agree that the camera is a big disappointment in quality still or video not to mention the weak battery life. I do have a lot of fun however with the “helmet cam” and my son.

Najki Guest | Hi, I did not read all this forum, but the main hint:
Samsung SEDG Avi file is the same as DIVX Avi file but one differce - in head of file (256bytes) is twice writen SEDG. You have to replace it to DIVX like this (sample of head of file):
strlstrh8 vidsSEDG
-replace to-
strlstrh8 vidsDIVX
then it works fine in any player/editor as DIVX Avi. The best way to replaxe is any Hex editor with batch function, like UltreEdit-32 or something. Normal “textreplace” software not working in hex mode.
Sorry about my English, I’m from CzechRep and have VP-X220L Camcorder. Enjoy your decoded files :-)

Problematic Guest | Ok, I have the SC-X205L. It is a fantastic camera while I was using it with Windows XP, however, I just got Vista and what do you know, the codec just will not install. All it says is “installation failed”, I dont know what to do...I try to watch my videos and all I get is the audio portion, but with out the codec I guess I’m SOL.

ajblanck Guest | I had the same problem, but I figured it out. In Windows vista, you have to right click the exe file and click run as administrator to install the codec.

Christopher Norton Guest | Hi, I was wondering whether one can covert the video format of the Samsung VP-X110L saved movies to a format recognized by dvd players, in order to be able to view the recorded movie on tv. Is this possible?
Thanks. | |

canock Guest | I have just bought a samsung sc x300L camcorder...it is the coolest little thing that i have seen in a while. I have a Mac Book Pro as well and i am trying to get the 2 to sync. I have read the threads that have been posted and tried to go to the address http://www.rt4.org/download/avi2DivX.jar and am not getting anything on the page other than garbage. Just curious if there is an easy way for someone like me who is not that computer savey to figure out this whole process. If someone like Gary or one of you that knows what they are talking about can do a “sedg to divx for dummies” that would be great!

Damien Olsen Guest | I’m experiencing impossibilities in watching videos in mac osx, the drivers that come with this camera
(Samsung SC-D363) are only for Windows so i pluged the camera into the laptop via USB and the folder
NO NAME shows up, double click in it and there u have the files ready to dragged into real time or wmp but only sound comes from them, no images.
I don think that this kind of files are compatible with MAC...
Most of the pages that are mentioned in earlier post are expired or gone so there’s no way to transform this files in mac compatibles....
