Real Media is a proprietary container and Real Networks does not allow other players (especially Windows Media Player, since version 6) to play its contents. Therefore there isn’t really a codec you can “install”. What you would need is a directshow splitter to play real media contents in windows media player, much like you would need a splitter to play ogm or matroska contents. Real alternative has such a splitter in it. if you want to stay legal use real player. again, unless you want to use some other player, it’s unlikely you’ll find a “codec” for real media.

im tryin to find 1 too.?:( my advice is give up.. there is no real media codecs out there for you. im srry but the truth is the truth :(

I have found a series of DLL that are supposed to be the codecs for RM, but dont know how to install them.... any ideas?

btw... you can play real media in Windows Media Player using this codec. WMP will complaint about the format is invalid first time you try, but just chose to play it anyway and it will work.

I don’t see what the problem is, I went straight to www.free-codecs.com and got alternatives to real player and quick time without having to download the players, both work fine with WINAvi converter

I need realmedia codec v9 or higher for the winavi video converter

i have the media player 9, real player 10, quicktime player 6.1 but still my WINavi is needing the real media codec 9 or higher can u tell what to do?? cause im trying to convert a .mov video to wma but still no sound coming from it.. just a video only... if u know the solution pls email me at hitlacapo@yahoo.com tnx..
