Is there anyone out there, that bought a zoran/nogatech videocard? If somebody read this that bought a zoran/nogatech videocard in the past: Could you look for the ntn2 codec that is included with your card.

i figured it out. the NTN1 codec works on NTN2.

thanks to anonymous for the codec installation howto!

instructions for installation:
Steps for pure 32-bit versions of Windows, namely Windows NT 4, 2000, XP 32-bit, and Vista 32-bit.

first download this file:
http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/drivers32/new/nuvision.ax

move it to your system32 folder (c:\winnt\system32 in windows nt 4/2000, c:\windows\system32 in xp/vista).

Next run the registry editor. Click start, run, then type regedit.exe and press enter. Then navigate to the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32
Make sure Drivers32 is highlighted on the left. Click on edit, new string value. Name it VIDC.NTN2 then double-click it and for value put nuvision.ax

Steps for Windows 95/98/Me
Copy nuvision.ax to c:\windows\system. In the c:\windows folder open the file named system.ini and under the [drivers32] section add this line:
VIDC.NTN2=nuvision.ax

Steps for 64-bit Windows (XP and Vista)
(not verified because I don’t have a 64-bit system yet!)
Copy nuvision.ax to c:\windows\SysWOW64
The steps for the registry editing are the same, except you’ll be using the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32
I heard there’s two(!) registry editors in Windows x64: one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit (just like internet explorer, eh?) Not even sure which one you’re supposed to start - but I suppose if you use the 64-bit you have to use the second key , but if youre using the 32-bit, you can use the key I mentioned in my 32-bit steps.
