Mpeg File error

Hi,
I have a mepg file, I can`t play it in any video player (winDVD (invalid format), Windows MP 10 (wrong codec) & powerDVD.
Than I checked the file with videoinspector (movie valid: NO...) and vcdGear (write in a text-file: “ALERT> No System Header found. MPEG-1 stream ??"
I have new ffdShow, DivX 5. installed.

What can I do?
Delet the mpeg file??? It`s more than 750MB :-(((
