MPEG 1 LAYER 3 (mp3 codec)

i downloaded some ripped tv shows and now on playback i get error downloading codec, and then it plays audio only. i used video toolbox and found i need an mpeg1 layer 3 codec but i cant seem to find one. the divx mp3 codecs dont seem to work unless im installing wrong. im using windows media player and any help would be appriciated. dan

I had the same problem 2 minutes ago and found the fix.
Try this :- Go to http://nimo.titanesk.com and select Download from the opening page. Then select Build 8 from Nico Brys Mirror. Then download it from the opening page.
After downloading it follow the following for install instructions.
UNCHECK everything except:-
Audio - MPEG-Layer 3 Audio V4.2
Then click next and follow the install process ignoring any errors that come up.
Then try loading the movie again and see if it plays. Please let me know if this works for you.

I’m just trying to import some videos onto windows movie maker but at first they were rvmbs so i had to convert them to mpeg1s but then it syays that in order to import them as mpeg1s i need a new codec thingy i need help
