I’m having trouble downloading this codec. These two sites have it
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/download.asp?url=/2846/eng/codinstl.exe&ProductID=355
http://www.updatexp.com/codec-iv50.html
But when I go to install the exe, it doesn’t. It just stops and the videos I need don’t work. Does anyone know where I can get it?
Oh yeah, I have a divx player, and it doesn’t work through that or Windows Media Player 10
The Intel link should have worked, unless the download was interrupted or you have Windows XP SP2 (SP2 sometimes seems to have problems running 16-bit apps - posts related to that have been popping up on the board recently - see this article http://www.talkaboutsoftware.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.security_admin/messages/142096.html). Perhaps a 32-bit installer might give you more luck

If the file still won’t play chances are it’s truncated or otherwise corrupt. In that case give avipreview or Media Player Classic a try.
I have MP10 for xp it cannot open .avi file . I downloaded divx still cant open the file what could be the problem
rne
ive tried all the links posted on here and installed all that has been offered i still am unable to play some windows media files, says codec is still missing
Hmmm... IV50, FFDSHOW, and the latest DIVX codecs should be more than enough. Perhaps you could stop using the pathetic WMP? Try RealPlayer instead, and if you want the best player out there, get VCL Media Player!
GSPOT, tells you which codecs, both audio/video are required to play some files, perhaps using it and then searching for the proper codec(s) would be the best thing to do.
hey guys,
thanks for helping me with iv50.i had also problems with installing it but the last link worked.you should try the bs player.i would say its the best divx player!small and good!

HAHAHAHAHAH! You’re a retard. RealPlayer is good if you like your computer being — — - with — — codec licensing. dumbass.

@avalones, ano
Unfortunately, VLC does not play IV50 encoded files; the <a href=“http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indeo”>Wikipedia:Indeo</a> article suggests that Indeo Video 4 and 5 are proprietary codecs and do not have open-source decoders, which is why VLC cannot play them.
I’ve found that certain media file converters (like RADVideo and CinemaForge) can take an IV50 as input and produce a working AVI file (although with what codec I’m not sure); you could try searching for a video converter to solve this problem.
There is <a href=“http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3115&start=0”>an article on the VLC website</a> that explains the reasons why VLC does not as of yet support the IV50 codec.
another thing to keep in mind is that the original windows vista had iv50 but the newer service pacages dont...perhaps theyre just uncompatible if anyone can find a download that works tell me cause i want to instal some games from my desktop computer(windows xp) to my laptop(windows vista)
Basta con hacer esto:
Open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> type cmd -> [ENTER]) Abrir una lÃnea de comandos (Inicio -> Ejecutar -> cmd tipo -> [ENTRAR])
Then execute the command: A continuación ejecuta el comando:
regsvr32 ir50_32.dll regsvr32 ir50_32.dll
LA DLL DEL CODEC NO ESTA REGISTRADA
