Issue importing mpeg into windows movie maker

So I have been trying and trying to import these mpeg videos into windows movie maker, but I was getting codec errors, saying I do not have the correct ones. Well, once I download it, it won’t work. I open movie maker and click import, and when it brings up the files, it freezes then closes. Any ideas?

I’m getting a similar problem. When I import an mpeg into a collection it’s fine but when I try to drag and drop it on the storyboard WMM comes up with an error message and closes.

I can’t even get mpeg’s into WMM.

im having the exact same problem. i dont understand everything about codecs

I KEEP GETTING THIS MESSAGE EACH TIME I TRY TO IMPORT VIDEO FILES INTO WMM:-
\EVERIO\rockstar mpeg\5d.mpg could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events from.

Does anyone have any idea of why this is?
It would be much appreciated.

p.s. does it make a difference that my files are MOD files and ive converted to MPEG?

You can convert the files using Any video converter at http://www.download.com/Any-Video-Converter/3000-2194_4-10661456.html then just convert it to wmv and it should work fine on movie maker, at least it did for me.

I can’t import my MPG files to WMM either then I tried to convert it to WMV and it imported to WMM but after I burned it out and put in a DVD player it kept getting freez and didnt play movie.
