I don’t understand why games don’t come with every thing you need to play them

I just looked in on this convo because my logitech camera was having a hissy-fit and i have to say thank you to you guys. I just got Call of Duty (CoD)4 and upon 1st running I get the following:“Error during initialization: Video card or driver doesn’t support separate alpha blend, glow will be disabled." I think I have a Video Codex with Indeo Video 5.10 driver. Is this the problem?
