Ok I have a movie that I downloaded (DVD rip) and the sound is out, I did a search and I got program called G-Spot and recommend the codecs I should use for Video and Audio and when you preview it worked like a dream.

Thing is how do you change the codecs?

It recommend DivX Decorder Filter for video and MPEG Layer 3 decoder for audio and I have noidea how to change this or anything so need advise.

Oh the file is avi format ok.

Thanks in advance

Cheers grin

Never heard of any how 2 changed of codecs of media players..but on the other hand depend on the movies itself. The most common AVI file could b encoded with either divX or Xvid(files compression of between 600MB 2 750Mcool If U R using Window Media Player, then U’ll have 2 download some 3rd party codec in order 2 play or U can take a look at the lefthand side of this 4rum under Media Players n see/choose which player U likes.
PS: Open ur mind 2 other players instead of WMP from Microsoft

Yikes...big confusing words. I’m encountering the same problem. I’ve tried uploading a .MSWMM file onto several websites, but the codec they require is .WMV
Will I need separate software to change the codec? I don’t understand all this talk about filters.

I cannot believe nobody is helping anyone here. First, for people who are using video players and having problems download this player first it is called VLC and you should not be using anything else. This is the best and ultimate for playing anything on the net. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Now if you have an issue where you need to convert a movie say from .mkv to avi or DVD format download Total Video Converter, it basically does everything for you but you need to choose what output you want.

If anyone still needs help after this you can try me 2surfcr /at/ /g/m/a/i/l/./c/o/m
