How do I determine which video codec I need? Completely lost...

Hello. I am new to downloading movies and ran into a problem.Some of my movies have no picture.I understand this is because I dont have the right video codec.How do I determine which video codec I am missing.Where do i go to get it?Any help you could give me on this matter would truly be appreciated.....thank you reply

you can download a software (Codec Pack 5) it include many useful codec and which are using
for or had installed. reply

you need a progam called gspot you can get it from www.headbands.com/gspot just install it and then drag the file in to the program its pretty straight forward i hope this is of help to you. reply

I just wanted to thank you all for the input that I recieved from you..I did get the program the Gspot form www.headbands.com and it was remarkably easy. I also installed a codec pack from www.thecodecs.com. It was coedec pack 2.6 and every movie I have downloaded has worked wonderfully...Thank you so much for all your help. reply

Another good piece of FREE software for finding out codecs on movie files is AVICodec and can be found here: http://avicodec.duby.info/

Try to locate the program GSPOT. With this you can open lots of types of files and c what type of decoder you miss..... reply

There are so many video converters in the internet. The important point to choose a best video converter are that it should converter video with high speed, nice quality, support more formats ,customized video formats, diversiform video edition, pleasant user interface and user experience, also should rip audio format or extract audio files.good luck reply
