I have even stranger situation!
I can’t open movie with a DIV3 format in VirtualDub (the same error as in topic) but I can open movie with sound only (and black screen) if I change movie format to XVID (with Avi FourCC Code Changer program).
What’s more strange - once (about 1 year ago0 I could open movie with the same format (XVID) on VirtualDub - with sound and vision! And now I can open this format with sound only!
Please help! I’ve just installed XviD codec and with no result!
Hi I’m using Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit & I’m getting similar error message:
“Couldn’t locate decompressor for format 'h264' (unknown). VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs suchs as those by Windows media Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this video."
when trying to embed or 'paste' subtitles directly into AVI (DivX, XviD, etc.) video file permanently.
It works fine w/ my Windows XP Pro SP2, but now I got a new laptop & I can;t install XP due to drivers issue so I’m stcuck w/ Windows 7.
I tried installing Nic_Xvid codec (http://www.free-codecs.com/Nic_XviD_Codec_download.htm) & I still got the same error message
Hello.
I run Windows 7 64 bit, and want to open XVID files in virtualdub. I’ve installed 64 bit xvid codec, and now, 64 bit virtualdub can open XVID files OK. But, since 64 bit virtualdub does not supports 32 bit plugins, I want to run 32 bit virtualdub. It runs, but can not open XVID files, also asks for codecs. What should I do?
