Is there anyone who can tell me why my H264/MP4-files are playing in slow motion? The sound is working fine but it gets out of sync since the video is moving so slow! I’ve tried a bunch of diffrent codecs including: Combined Community Codec Pacl (CCCP), CoreAVC but none of them has worked. Suggestions? anybody having the same problem? I’d really appreciate answers!
By the way! I forgot to say that Gspot isn’t picking up on the files either (mp4), for what it’s worth..
Thanks, willijay!
Cole2k Codec pack works perfectly! I tweaked the advanced installation (H264 was unchecked). You may wanna do that.
WHAT IS WITH ALL THESE PEOPLE WHO CAN’T LOOK AT THE FORUM BEFORE THEY ASK! PEOPLE NEED TO BE PROACTIVE ABOUT THIS STUFF!! GROW UP AND LOOK UP!
21st century and we still have to do this... http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm works perfectly
K.Fj..... you da bomb yo! Tried many different things, took your advice, and now I am watching The Simpsons! Bliss. Thanks so much!
Hey there, I want to convert my avi or mpg files to QT h264 files for posting on my site, what program will do this? Thanks!
i installed x264 codec and can convert usin vso convertxtodvd.
kmp player will play x264 files as long as codec is installed
Cool - But i dont like other media players - i want these files to work in Windows Media Player.
I guess - if you get a Choice - Get the one that says XviD Codec with AVI container.
Every thing else is either BS or not supported by many.
XviD is the best codec, would be better if people accept it soon.
And i Dislike VLC - i never open it unless Media player totally cant play the file.
thx for the help guys, but some of those posts did not help one bit.
I had a dogfighting documentary that needed the h264 codec, here is the link for one easy and free download that will allow you to play it, it worked for me and it will work for you!
http://www.free-codecs.com/FFDShow_download.htm
just to make things clear, x264.exe is needed to ENCODE, use ffdshow to decode (play movies on your computer, that is):

ok guys...
you have posted 3 pages worth of codecs sites and I have checked out most of the links...
here is my problem:
Media Player plays the file just fine... Gspot say I am missing the very same file as post #1. I have tried several of the links and it doesnt work... gpost still say codec is missing... I don’t wanna view the file - I want to clip it with Movie Maker but I only have audio in MM.
Which is the best site for this particular codec? How can you see if you have FFDHshow or what its called?
Roemern is 100% correct. Save all the trouble and just get http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
The program is very simple and straight forward. Furthermore, it is safe.
Trying to download all those codecs without knowing what you’re doing will screw things up. Download this player and I promise you that it will not cause winamp to crash... obviously.
