Ok you lads and lassies.
I see you all are having some serious problems with the request for a FOURCC Codec “0”.
I had the same problem.
I have found the solution, yep!
Goto this address:
http://www.avipreview.com/avipreview_by_aj/software/avipreview_by_aj_026_alpha.zip
Download the file and open it. This is called AVIPreview, some might recognise it from Kazaa Lite Productions.
Well, great news! AVIPreview ALLOWS the playing of FourCC Codec “0” Files! WooHoo!
Thank me, I know ya wanna
Enjoy!
A valid AVI with a FourCC of '0' does not exist. That is a fact.
Where’d this Kazaa Lite Productions come from? AVIPreview’s made by AJ - he’s the creator.
Anyways, AVIPreview is a bit outdated. VideoLAN does what it can do, plus more - www.videolan.org
Perhaps not, but a hell of a lot of webcam recordings do.
And dont tell me they dont; Its why I tried to find a solution.
Well, what do you say to this?:
http://www.divxmovies.com/faq/#4.3 (scroll down a bit)
“Please note that there doesn’t exist any video codec that uses the FOURCC code 0. If you’ve downloaded a movie with the FOURCC code 0 it’s a fake movie file and you won’t be able to watch it. To avoid fake movies using KaZaA you can use a program called sig2dat. Then you simply goto a site such as FastTrackMovies.com and lookup the movie you want to download. All the files have been verified and should work, so when you follow the sig2dat link your KaZaA will automatically try to find and download the movie."
What happens when you load that AVI file into TFO Codec Finder, does it say it’s got a FourCC of '0'?:
