Hello, I exported some video from Final Cut Pro and now that I am on a computer at work, without Final Cut Pro, I can’t even see anything. It’s all black.

This is what the inspector in Quicktime Pro says.

“Format : XDCAM EX 1080p24 (35 Mb/s VBR), 1920 x 1080 , Millions, 16-Bit Integer (Big Endian), Mono.
48.000 KHz, 16-Bit Integer (Big Endian), Mono 48.000 KHz”

Anyone know what to do? I tried finding Big Endian (codec??) but I was unsuccessful. Please respond if you know how to go about this!

Thanks,
Ryan

I have also seen this problem. In one case I was able to view the video by copying all but the last frame of the movie and pasting it into a new movie player in QT Pro and saving it as a self-contained movie. I’m guessing there is some codec missing for HD video that is only installed on computers that have FCP installed on them.

the newest version of vlc should support it.

likewise perian (for mac) or ffdshow-tryouts (for windows)
should allow you to play it back in quicktime / wmp.
