Before I formatted my computer, I had been able to play videos recorded on digital cameras. That was after I installed the Nimo codec pack. I would like to know, which specific codec that videos recorded by digital cameras require in order to play. They don’t play now.. of course, I could just reinstall the codec pack, but I’d just like to know the one it uses specifically so I can install that one, and just that one.

Thanks

It would help if you stated which specific digital camera you’re using!

Sorry.. I use Canon Digital Ixus 400. I’ve also tried playing videos recorded by a Fujifilm Finepix camera.

It’s most likely motion-jpeg then. Get DirectX 9 (simplest solution) from Microsoft. Also VirtualDub can play m-jpeg, and so can QuickTime. Finally there’s tons of commercial mjpeg codecs out there, the 3 most famous being from morgan multimedia, mainconcept, and pegasus.
