I am having some problems playing video with my Windows Media Player 11 no matter what codecs or codec packs I have installed.
One example is I have a video that G-spot says is Xvid, G-spot says the codec is installed (and I do, I have Xvid 1.1.3 installed). When I try to play the video in WMP 11, it only plays audio, no video. I can play the same video in WMP Classic tho.
I am running a laptop with Vista. I can play the exact same trouble videos on my desktop that is also running Vista (and K-lite). I have tried K-lite, ACE, CCCP, etc on the laptop to no avail.
Another trouble video G-spot says the codec is WMV1, Name WMP v7.
I’m not sure why this is happening or how to fix it, any help would be appreciated.

this is caused by WMP11, it can support some codecs. You can use KMPlayer to play it,
What is strange is WMP11 on my Vista desktop plays the videos just fine.
Could something have happened like the player isnt seeing the codec or something?
Try updating your video drivers.
