Codec for mpeg to put in Windows Movie Maker - HELP!

I recorded some files from my video recorder and i want to make a movie with it on WMM but it says i need a codec for it. its a mpeg file so does anyone know what codec to download?

i have the same problem too.... driving me mad!! i have to get some of the cds back out and put them into windows media to get the songs i want to go with the videos, but as i have over 700+ songs on itunes, i dont want to have to pull out all the c’ds to get all them songs!! so i need help to please? thanks in advance.

I HAD the same problem
just download the divx.com codec(no matter what kind of file you want), its free!
DONT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING EXCEPT THE CODEC!
once you download and its working...
open the divx on your programs on your desktop
then go to DIVX EKG, you dont need to do anything else!

If you have DivX converter, so can you converte mpeg to HD 1080, and it works with movie maker. And the video picture is just so good :-).
Sorry if you cant understand, im not so good to english, im from denmark so. hope it helps ;-)
