Classic Media Player and VLC won't play mov or qt extensions

posted in Video Codecs, viewed 2365 times

I have Vista on my computer and have added Quick Time Alternative and K Lite Codec package. When I try to view movies I’ve down loaded from Limewire in the mov format I keep getting a message on Classic Media Player wanting me to download a Windows Media Pass, and on qt extentions I get an error message saying some of the pins are missing. On my windows media player it gives the error message that it can’t play the file format on the windows media player. On VCL player it just flashes up a larger screen for 1 second then goes back to doing nothing.

I thought by adding the quick time alternative and the codex pack that I’d be able to play the mov and qt extensions? What have I done wrong or need to do.

The system plays mpeg and avi just fine on either of the players. reply

They’re probably fakes. If you’re getting them in batches of 5, 8, or 10, it’s probably a fake. Type *anything* in the search box in limewire and see for yourself. reply
