I’m having trouble getting a file encoded with the Canopus DV Codec to work. I’ve downloaded the codec from numerous locations but it either just displays a black screen or colourful static. Also, when I load the file into G-Spot, it claims I don’t have the CDVC codec.
Has anyone else had trouble with this? I’m running Windows XP, and have tried the file in Media Player and VideoLAN.

You can download the codec for viewing CDVC here:

It’s freeware, just download, unzip and run setup.

This codec is extremely high qual tho, and unless you have a powerful computer and/or video card, it will run like a dog.

Get the canopus dv codec directly from canopus!

I had same problem with black screen.

I grab video on pc with EZDV card to d:/video/ then copy these video files to laptop without canopus card, so I downloaded software codec and video was only black with sound.
SOLUTION is that video MUST be in SAME path as when you grab it. so when i save it on laptop to D:/video/ and all is OK.

Hope this help to anyone in future.
