Movie Maker sometimes needs different filters than Media Player. It’s hard to guess which one(s) you need unless you know what types of files you’re working with. Use one of the diagnostic utilities listed here and report back

liz h,
Download a video converter. I’m using the freeware version of Any Video Converter to take my AVIs and change them to MPEG 2, which Movie Maker for Vista 64 supports. You’ll still have your original AVI as well. With the new MPEG 2, Movie Maker will work just as it did in the past in good ol' Vista 32. I hated Vista 32. Now I miss it. I REALLY miss XP!
