Avi Files are messed up with me...

ey guys ^^

um i got a lil prob with avi files...
since i reinstalled my computer, every avi file i download either gets stuck all the time or at one point that the screen wont change or if i bit torrent em the colors are messed up or somethin, theres just always somethin wrong with em....

now i got the ffdshow thing and since i got that i can atleast open em but their still messed up...

got any ideas for me on how to fix it ?
