My AVI files play fine on quicktime with vision and sound but real player and WMP just play the sound. I have no answers. reply

The reason behind the video not showing is to do with a lack of video codecs that Windows Media Player and Real Player can utilize.

Usually people use Xvid for the video and Mpeg layer 3 or AC3 (Dolby digital) for audio.

So, here are codecs/filters for the file types.

<a href=“http://www.free-codecs.com/koepi_xvid_download.htm”>Koepi’s XviD Codec 1.2.2</a>
<a href=“http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=5191&amp;s=12”>AC3 Filter 1.63b</a>
<a href=“http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=3809&amp;s=19”>Fraunhofer MPEG Layer-3 Audio Decoder</a> reply

Try this:

Open up your computer (even if you don’t know how), get a marker (black) and write on your hard drive (even if you don’t have one) “FIXED” and make sure you write in permanent marker (so it doesn’t happen again).

BTW, my gameboy is broke same problem HALP reply

Just download k-lite codec pack full and when you install it choose lots of stuff (#7) and make sure that all video file types are checked off....that should do the trick....have NEVER had a problem watching ANYTHING EVER....

Try any video converter to convert the avi files to something you can play. reply

I had the same problem with real player not playing AVI files.
What you all need to do is downloading Avi Codec Pack + 2.3.0 for real player.
go on that site that’s where I got it myself. It worked for me. Good Luck!
