An unexpected error occurred with a DMO codec.

Windows Media Player 10
I get this message or ....has encountered a problem and needs to close.Can anyone give me any clues as to what may be wrong. Its been working fine ever since I changed to XP etc. (at least two years}.
I would greatly appreciate any help here, I cannot find anything on the net that makes any sense!

I get that same problem - One day it was working fine and the next DMO codec error or crash

DMO DirectX Media Object is something missing at WMP codecs or plugins.Here is a link to download some of them.http://lists.gpick.com/pages/CoDecs.htm

for months now wmp has decided nopt to work all i get is missing codecs as above nothing in windows web pages make any sense.
