I am using a program called Macromedia Flash 8.
I have a bunch of mpegs and I need to convert them to AVI’s because it looks as though Flash does not support mpegs. Is there a converter from mpegs to AVI’s ? Any help would be appreciated .. Thanks
If the files are MPEG-1, you can use VirtualDub. http://www.virtualdub.org
Be sure to click on video, compression, then pick a codec to encode into, otherwise the default will be uncompressed and huge.
To save the file, pick file, save as avi. If you want to do it to multiple files, after you click on save as avi, check the box “don’t run this job now, add it to job control”. Then drag and drop the next video onto the VirtualDub window (it will use the exact same settings), and click file, save as, and so on for all the videos. When you’re done, go to file, job control and click start.
Oops. I forgot to say. If the files are MPEG-2, use VirtualDub-MPEG-2 here

The instructions are the same. VirtualDub-MPEG-2 is just a variant on the original virtualdub with added ability to read MPEG-2 files.
