Blocky picture and colour distortion during playback

Hey guys

I hope one of you guys can help out.
I haven’t been watching many films for a while
now but today i decided to watch a few just to find out that for some reason, all my movies are blocky and the colours are all blurred.
All my video files are doing the same thing.
Most of them are divx files but even the others are doing the same thing.
I have the latest Divx and Xvid codecs installed and i dont know what else to do.
Anyone know what i can try?

Try using a program called video lan, its a basic media player but seems to play anything
