Hi, I’m new to the world of DVD burning/copying.
Ever since I got my new computer I want to burn rented/bought DVD’s onto empty DVD’s. I downloaded a ripper called “Super DVD Ripper” which was pretty easy to use. I managed to rip 3 rented DVD movies onto my computer and 1 bought DVD.

Now here is my problem. I tried burning these ripped DVD’s onto new disc’s with “HT Fireman’s CD/DVD Burner 1.4” and “Nero Burning ROM”. HT burned the movies onto the new DVD’s, but when I put the DVD’s into my DVD player I got a message saying “Wrong Disc” on my DVD player. sO i then tried Nero which didn’t even let me burn the files onto DVD’s because it said incorrect file extension or something like that, so I called up my friend who knows about computers and stuff and he said thta my problem was that I had the incorrect file extensions and that I needed to change them.

So I need to know
a.) How do I change the file extension’s of the movies that I ripped?
b.) How do I change the file extension’s of the movies that I downloaded?
c.) What is the correct file extension for DVD players?

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks for your time.

Here is the best way to do it that I have found so far. Download DVDShrink. Run it once you have put in a DVD. Decrypt the movie to your HD. You want it to output into an ISO file. Then use Alcohol 120% to burn the ISO file to a DVD. Enjoy.
