distortion when playing ogg files

hi,when i try to play ogg files i get some sound distortion and video jerkiness every 5-10 seconds.
i have reinstalled oggdec,divx 505 pro,xvid4 and ffdshow five times with no success,it has worked before.
the only thing that differs (what i know of) is that i have installed the latest wmp9 codec pack,could this be it??
