apollo Guest | i burnt dvd disc with samsung tsh552u it burns fine plays fine on comp but will not play on dvd player (not computer player but one connected to tv_) i have tried afew brands of dvd disc but seem to find more discs brands dont work than do work
wat would cause it

qball Guest | We need more details. And just HOW did you burn this disc? Did you convert a movie from .avi to DVD format? Did you copy a bought/rented movie? What did you do??

Regular Rep: 5 Joined: 20 Nov 2004 Posts: 1,269 | DVD burning isn’t quite in its infancy, but it’s not quite finalized yet either. The result is different brands of media work in some players and not others. (Yes, cd-r used to have that problem too, but i bet most of today’s users have no idea cd-r’s were once incompatible like dvd+/r’s today)
I say find the brand that works best and stick with it. I know dvd burners' manual will often list brands of media that work well with it, but I don’t know if this is the case for standalone dvd players (you could always check).
And as suggested in the post above mine it’s possible it’s a formatting error and not media-related. As stated by qball, more info would be helpful.

labish Guest | If is working on computer might be in a wrong video system Pal or NTSC.If you have virtual dubmod install open the file with it and look at the frame speed.25 fps is Pal 29 fps is NTSC.Check your converter and burning software for the right video system.Your video player maybe is not a multisystem player.As you see we guess better if you post with more details.
