So: copy xxx.avi.bc! xxx.avi [enter]

are there spaces between “copy” and “xxx.avi.bc!" and between “xxx.avi.bc!" and “xxx.avi”?

This one worked for me. I was able to change the avi.bc format to .avi format, but not able to play it.

if going to cmd doesnt work for you guys.

Open any folder - select tools - go to folder options - select view -uncheck file extension....

then you should be able to change the extension....

i can’t assure you that this will make your video play even with VLC....

OK, i’m not a newbie to windows. I can assure you however that something fishy is going on here....

I have all the codecs I could ever possibly need, and since about a week ago ALL my torrent downloads have been incomplete. There are no comments on the torrent files because this is clearly not a file issue...it is an issue with my torrent application.

Changing the extension to .avi is of no use in my case because i get data redundancies which mean I still can’t get the file to work.

If anyone can shed some light....

bc! after a bitorrent file means it is incomplete
you can try changing it as much as you like, but it won’t work until you compltee the download

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! go to

tools > folder options > view (tab) > Hide extentions for known filetypes (uncheck)

I know this is a old topic... but couldn’t one person here tell him to show the filetypes!!!

I have had the same problem and to no extent I went to divx.com and the player that you download wont work I dont know why but it doesn’t. I also tried opening my avi.bc file and it tells me it’s not a valid format. also I have two files for one movie and when I try to convert them into one it tells me they are not valid either. if any one has a suggestion I’m free to listen

1.GO to any folder in your computer (for instance MY computer)
2. Click on Tools
3. Click on Folder Options
4. Click on the View Tab
5. UNCHECK - Hide extensions for known file types
6. Click Apply to all folders

now the file should show up with the .bc extension at the end... JUST RIGHT CLICK AND HIT RENAME THEN DELETE THE .BC
