reasons:
1. size. usually dvds are double layer and they wont fit on a standard dvd
2. protection. dvds are protected for obvious reasons.
solution: find something that resizes or even better: shrinks AND which can unprotect the files.
advise: read the other topics first!
or google for dvd shrink. this is freeware and does the trick

labish Guest | KK you are totally wrong.Did you hear about double layer burners? If you use a combination 1 Click DVD Copy with Any DVD install you may copy a dvd 1:1 on dvd9 (8.5 G .Also DVD Fab with DVD Idle can do the same job.1 Click dvd has a compression included so is no need for the Shrink you if want to copy a dvd on a dvd5(4.7 Gb).

lots of people have double layer burners, but the double layer dvd disks are still too expensive for most of us.
so this was the standard advise to a regular problem.
