Regular Rep: 0 Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 615 OFFLINE | No such thing as an avseq.dat codec. You’ve either got a MPEG1 or MPEG2 file there. These are used for (S)VCD creation and can be normally decoded/played with the codecs that come with the Windows OS’s.
Simply rename the avseq.dat to avseq.mpg and then double click on it to play it.
NOTE: Make sure it’s named to avseq.mpg, not avseq.dat.mpg.
The only reason it’s named avseq.dat in the first place is so a standalone VCD or DVD player will easily recongnise the format when you go to make a (S)VCD, k :-)

psrinivas_66 Guest | I have 4 movie/video editing/splitting softwares.
I want to split/cut the vedio files of a CD or a movie which is containing mpeg folder and avseq file. The softwares which I am having are unable to open the avseq file.
Please suggest me the suitable option.

or
in WMP Open File > ALL File in File Type Then select Avseq.dat > Open

Sayed Guest | ever since ive installed this soft image grabber im unable to play any avseq.dat file on my vista home premium laptop. the moment i open any avseq file the tool bar displays an icon like a film reel which on pointing the cursor reads
" OGG DIREST SHOW FILTER " and the system hangs for like 10 to 15 mins. Is there a way out of this.

superdude Guest | dat files can be played with VLC player is a totally free player google for it.choose open with and select the player.avseq.dat is a dat file.
