Wannabe Rep: 0 Joined: 10 Jul 2005 Posts: 16 OFFLINE | I used DVD santa to convert and burn a mpg file that I had downloaded. The sound and picture was all there on downloaded version (before I used DVD santa) but then when I played the DVD in my player the sound went off half way through and the very end (last minute) of the film wasn’t there. Can anyone help me. Is this to do with DVD santa or something else? Many thanks. I was thinking of changing to winAVI - is that recommended?

SmUDgE Guest | I have had this happen many times. Mainly on my Celeron based PC and sometimes on my P4 PC. I am in Australia. So I try and make my DVDs into PAL format. But alot of the time this gives me the problem you have so I redo it as NTSC and its fine. So if this is what your doing try and change the video format. Also I have the least problem when I leave everything as default on DVDSanta. But I have converted over 300 movies and combined many TV Series with DVDSanta and have found nothing does it as well and with Chapters. I just love the program.

Thiwaddin Guest | I’ve experienced another problem with DVDSanta:
I have a .AVI movie with a .SRT subtitle. If I use only the avi, DVD Santa does it very well, and the DVD works perfect.
If I try to burn the avi file with the subtitle file, in the middle of the conversion the program suddenly closes and the conversion is not complete, and also without any subtitles...
Can anybody help me with this?

SmUDgE It Guest | The only time I had a problem when I added SUB or SRT files to a AVI in DVDSanta was when I tried to make it in PAL format. And the other thing you must have AVI and SUB/SRT files in the same Folder and also named the same. And for some reason when I had a problem with a certain movie while trying to add SUBS I installed VOBSUB program and it fixed the problem, why I don`t know. Also lately I have had alot of problems with XVID format AVIs crashing DVDSanta. I fixed this problem by uninstalling XviD codec version 1.0.3 and now all is well again. Why, once again I don`t know it worked so I leave it be. Hope this helps. Cya

Thiwaddin Guest | Thaks very much for the tip. One more question: When I install Vob Sub, what do I have to do to make it work with DVD Santa?
Because in NTSC format it worked, but in PAL format it still doesn’t work. Also in Wide Screen it was not generated well.

You will need to install the divx codec. Im fairly sure that dvd Santa can download new codecs from a menu. just select the divx one and download it and viola, it should recognize the file no problems.
Failing that, just download the divx codec and it will still work.

ShaneHag Guest | I have the demo version of DVDSanta and that’s fine for me but now I’m trying to string a few downloaded South Park episodes together and when i press the “create DVD” button I get one of those error messages that says “dvdSanta has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." and it asks if I want to send or not send an error report. It’s really pissin me off so if anyone has any idea that would be great. I already tried uninstalling and re-installing it.
Thanks!!

Raymond Estrella Guest | I used DVD Santa to burn a divx movie to DVD. When I go to play the DVD on a dvd player (or even my DVD drive), I get a menu with a Divx logo and two files (CD1 and CD2). But I can’t click on either one of them to play. Obviously the Divx movie is in two parts, but it’s within one file. Cany anyone help?
