No sound on DVD when played on set top

I recently burned a dvd from a source Mpeg2 video and Wave file with Nero. The movie looks great when played on my home DVD player, however there is no sound. I placed both of the video and sound files in their appriopriate boxes with NeroVision, and the DVD burned just fine; I just can’t seem to get the sound working.

Is this a problem with my DVD player? Do I have to modify the Wave file somehow before I burn it with the Mpeg2 file? If someone could assist me I would be very appreciative.
