Video Editing (adjusting color etc.)

I’m having problems editing video files with some of the free prgrams out there. I want to use filters to edit (adjust contrast) on the files. But when I do that and try to save it, the file ecomes huge; like 80gig. Same thing happens on different programs.

Is a link to a tool to fix a video file contrast brightness and so on.Enhance Movie 1.3 and some other to work with an avi file.I guess is what you need if I’m wrong forget it.
