Hello all,

I’ve installed a week ago the ACE Mega Codecs Pack and I found it was a little boring because I had a lot of small programs launching in the task bar and so on. So I decided to uninstall it and when the uninstall process asked me if I wanted to keep some files that were “probably no more in use” I’ve said “no” because I though it was some nasty files installed with the pack. What a mistake ! I couldn’t read any video or audio anymore ! I purely deleted every codec on my computer. I’ve tried to do a system restore but it didn’t reinstall the codecs so I’ve reinstalled Windows Media Player 9 and most of my problems were solved except for the avi videos where I still have problems with sound and/or video (the video slows down, the sound cuts, then the video carry on without sound or the contrary...).
So has anyone an idea on how to reinstall properly every windows codecs ? I don’t want to reinstall windows XP cause I don’t want to lose all my datas.. I’ve even tried to reinstall Ace Mega Codecs but it doesn’t work either sad

Any idea to save me ?

Just a guess but you might download Kazaa Lite’s latest codec pack?

Question to JJR:

I can’t play any avi files any more, either divx or not. I think it has to do with KLite ++. I tried uninstalling the codec pack and K++, didn’t help. Alos tried unistalling and then reinstalling WMP9, no luck. I even used the codec pack from microsoft. Nothing seems to help. Any ideas?
