Vic Guest | I just update my system and im running a HP Pavillion AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 2.10 Ghz with XP Home edition service pack 2, and with an Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 256 mb video card.. I have notice that all of my videos have an odd white tint to it, and they have a terrible resolution. i have downloaded all of the new drivers for my card, and random other codecs to see if it works, but i cant find a way to fix it. Has anyone here ever come upon this problem, or could shed some light on the subject? Is Hewlett Packard and Windows secretly conspiring to screw with my videos? Am I using a crappy video card? Please help me oh wise codec ninjas.

Fred Guest | I have a similar problem...
Since reinstalling windows to win x64 pro
I have reinstalled directx 9.0c and all codecs but now i have this whitish/magenta overlay on my videos and resolution looks bad... on windows media player however if I disable the “overlays” option in advanced options in the performance tab the video looks perfect...
But in all games or other prrograms without that option videos are messed up like that...
I noticed that by disabling direct draw all videos are ok but when playing a game i cant disable it whitout impeding my ability to play so movies in games are messed up...
I am using a Gefoce FX 5700 with directx 9.0c

DavidJata Guest | Do you have an nVidia graphics card and are running Forceware 77.72 drivers ? If so, go to nVidia’s BETA Drivers section and download 77.76. It will fix the “white” distortion in the Video Playback
