I had a ** ****.avi movie and so i wanted to make a VCD

out of it. I used Nero Vision 3 to make the VCD and it gave

me all these great options like scene selection, menu

template and stuff. The encoding and burning went fine, but

when I tested the VCD in my DVD player, it just shows the

scene selection menu at the beginning of the of the VCD and

won’t let me play the movie. When i play try to play or fast

forward oranything at that menu, the DVD player won’t allow

me to. I tested it in like 3 different stand alone DVD players

and i wasted like 3 CD-R’s in this process. Can anyone tell me

what i’m doing wrong?

why not create a DVD instead.
what you need to do is download WinAVI Video Converter. this is a program that will allow you to change the file into an ISO file, which is read only by the DVD. then simply drag the whole file that you created into Nero express 6 (DVD-file) then burn with a - DVD.

See that’s the problem, i don’t have a dvd-burner, and i’m just happier if i had VCD’s instead.

When you open Nero Vision click on more at the bttm of the screen and check video options: is listing some of the countries and the video system. If this is ok I guess you have a retail version of Nero 6.6 which includes all the plugins video and audio. What I think might be the problem is the type of your avi and Nero burn it as a data with no convertion.I did not use Nero for converting and I don’t know what type of video files is converting so my advice do a check on your avi with GSpot find out what type is it and convert it from that type to vcd using a video converter and burn it with Nero.If the movie is a Xvid WinAvi has a lot of options now came out a new version 7.0 Beta.

Well, I had the same problem too! I found the bug in it, however...

You must start the V-CD with a number button like 1 or 2... It’s temporary fix but I also do require you to turn of the app. iso thing to make videos start better...
