Entree Rep: 0 Joined: 25 Jun 2005 Posts: 3 OFFLINE | Hello, for some reason the audio is not working in any of my programs. My mp3s won’t work, my movies won’t work but they will play, etc... I recently deleted what I thought were useless programs and i think that’s what happened. When I try to play my mp3s in musicmatch jukebox I get a “WaveOut Format not supported” error. Similar errors occur when i try to play them in any other program. I am sure this has something to do with it.

labish Guest | If you use a WinXP use the restore and go to an earlier check point before you delete something.Start/all programs/accessories/system tools/system restore.

labish Guest | Try it again this way.If is not working is more than a “download” problem. If you use the WinXP learn to use system restore before you make more damage because you download or install something that conflicts with the setting for your video/audio cards.So go start/all programs/accessories/system tools/system restore and click on it.Click on restore my computer to an earlier time and go next.In the left side of the window is a calender and in the right side is listing what you have done in that day.Click backward on dates until you see a system check point.Pick one and go next and the computer is going to restore by itself to the configuration of that date.Remeber all installations done after that date is going to be deleted.

It will go through the process of restoring my computer, but then after it restart it says, it was not able to restore, and nothing was changed. I think I must of deleted some sort of audio program, which has caused the audio to go out.

brandon Guest | i know what ur problem is my friend. same thing happened to me. go to start, then help and support, then type audio up top in the search bar, and finally, click reinstall audio driver. worked for me! let me know if that works on this forum.

Riko_NX Guest | I tried the Help and Support Thing but it didn’t find anything about reinstalling the audio device. My problem: I just got Error Doctor 2006 and deleted almost all my audio codecs. Can anyone help?

A very nice man Guest | 1 Go to control panel
2 Add hardware
3 At “Welcome” screen, press next
4 Select “Yes, I have already connected this hardware”. Press next
5 Scroll down, and select “Add a new hardware device”
6 Select “Install the hardware I select from a list”
7 Select “Sound, video and game controllers”
8 Select "(standard system devices)" in pane 1, and “Audio Codecs” in pane 2
9 Press “Have Disk”
10 Enter “C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32” in the drop down box and press “OK”
11 Select “Microsoft Audio Compression Manager” and press “Next” , then “Next” again.
12 At the security screen, press “Continue anyway”
It will install, and require a reboot
If it still does not work, then follow the same procedure, but at point 11 choose “IMA ADPCM
Audio CODEC” and on the next run select “Microsoft ADPCM Audio CODEC”
IT WORKED FOR ME AFTER SITTING HERE FOR AGES GOING MAD.
WHY DIDN’T MUSICMATCH FIGURE IT OUT?

I just made a random search to see how come some of the audio stuff on ALL of my machines as well as my father’s laptop (with different systems and even different service packs installed) invariably didn’t work quite as they should - it was the problem with MusicMatch on three of four machines that made me perform the search on Google.
Your instruction above did the trick. (I have only tried this one machine I am typing this message from, but I believe your instruction will solve the problem on all my machines).

lose it all guy Guest | hi i just reformatted my computer the other day at home witha windows xp disc and my drivers were revovered except my sound i lost my disc and i have no idea what to do next can anyone help?? i tryed everything uptop still nothing and i remember my driver used to be called realtek or soundMAX i need help anyone plz i downloaded alot of drivers and still no answer can any1 help?
