hi i am a newbie to the computer world and need a hand with a problem.just so you know i dont know much about computers. i am trying to convert files from win to avi files. i go into winavi 6.3 and go to the avi button. when i do this it takes me to my computer and i select all my video files about 2.5 gig. and select ok.(i have also tried one video at a time) when i do this it goes to the files i have selected and i press ok. it then says that i should install the divex/xvid avi codec. (what does this mean can someone give me a direct link to it) i press ok and then i get another window to select recompression their are no options so i press no recompression and i get this is not a valid video codec please choose another codec (no i am confused i dont understand computers what am i doing wrong) i select ok and it goes back to the re compression window..... i need serious help as i dont understand what to do and any help would be appreciated. if i select cancel in the recompression window i ge the following fail in initializing the files...... thank you very much and especialy to charlie as the code for the crack worked thank you.

Here is a link from WinAvi site to download some codecs:http://www.winavi.com/en/download/codec.htm also you can download from this site whatever you want:http://www.free-codecs.com/ Any mega pack has a lot of codecs inside is good to have one like All in one a liter version or Ace or K-Lite mega packs.Search the site for them.GSpot is a video analyser and open your file with to find out what type of file you have and start the conversion from that type to whatever you want to make a cd or a dvd.If you have more than one avi file find a good join tool and put all in one file or upload all of them in WinAvi but be sure are video files not ifo or b-up file and here you may use GSpot to find out. Here is a link with tutorial how to make a dvd and some downloads:http://www.afterdawn.com/index-menu.cfm Good Luck!
