David Guest | I HAVE THE EXACT PROBLEM YOU ARE ALL HAVING. Phew, thought i was alone. I cant remember if is from the new drivers but yes it seems to be relating to them. anyway, if you disable directdraw, then yes the video plays fine. weird though. ON MY OTHER ACCOUNTS even with directdraw enabled they play fine. wierd. going to try older drivers. will let you all know.

another satisfied customer Guest | THANKS! I also spent hours reinstalling codecs and swearing at WMP and BSplayer, but then I thought, hey, I just upgraded my video drivers for Direct X 9.0, did a GOogle search and found this site. Changing the color setting worked great!

joe 90 Guest | Go to the Nvidia options panel
Go to Color Correction
Set the 'Apply color changes to:' on 'All' instead of 'Desktop'
Just to say that I have just done the above and it worked, weird colours after a Nvidia software upgrade
was the cause of the problem.
