labish Guest | TT gave you a good tip but he does not talk much just when is talking dirty. WinAvi when you choose your file before you start converting click on Advanced and you have on a new window two tab click on aspect format and switch from auto to 16:9 on both encode and dvd and find out your video system for your area Pal or NTSC.After this you may start converting. It’s a long story how to work with this mostly from widescreen to full screen because of the price of a wide screen so you may Google Anamorphic 16:9 or Letterboxing or Pan and Scan and so on. | |

topcat139 Guest | you want a quick cheat? For mpegs try out DVDPatcher, it lets you modify the headers and change the ratio. If you need to change things on an avi you really need to recode the file to get it correct. VDUB-Mod is the way to go, easiest editor on the planet.
Recode mpeg? try TmpGenc, Express will even create Avi files, though only one run, not 2. Still it looks ok.
luck.
