Wayne Renardson Guest | If anyone has difficulty when loading a video with the Windows Installer starting up, Microsoft has a fix to remove funky installation programs.
Every time I clicked on a movie (any format) the Windows Installer would begin an install of the ACE Megapack Codecs,clogging up my screen. I had to use Task Manager to kill the loading/installation proces and to stop the nonsense.
Microsoft has a piece of software that will kill these funky installaton programs. I DL’d it, ran it, selected the process, removed it, and now my videos run fine. Known as the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, it can be found:
