Change a div3 movie to mpga

I just purchased a Mintek 1815 portable DVD player. I’m very inpressed with it, except. I have DVD burned disks with 6 movies each. The player will recognize and index the movies on the disk that are either mpga or mpgv codec, but won’t recognize any movies with the div3 codec. Selecting the movies in the index, the player will play them, but won’t show the other movies with the div3 codec in the index. Is there a way to convert a 750k movie that’s a div3 to a mpga or mpgv? The player also plays mp3 audio files from a CD and music videos from a CD. Gil

Can you check your syntax? I’m not familiar with mpga or mpgv (mpeg-audio, mpeg-video?). Or did you mean mpeg-1 and mpeg-2? or mpeg-4?
If mpeg-1 and 2 are the only formats recognized by the dvd player, you can use a free utility called tmpgenc (from http://www.tmpgenc.net) to convert the DIV3 avi into mpeg.
