Error During Encoding Process

Hey Guys, I wanted help with an AVI file I have downloaded and am trying to burn onto a vcd however there is a damaged part, possibly a missing fram in the middle of the movie, that causes the burning process and even the playing process to freeze every time it reaches that part. If I skip media player to a second after the part were it freezes I am fine to watch the rest of it but that once part is giving me problems. I have tried numerous repair programs such as avimediv avifixjoiner and other but it says that there was an error in the encoding process.

Any help/explanation or advice anyone can give me on this problem would be very much appreciated.
