Can someone help me out here. When I try to view a video on realplayer, it says that realplayer needs to download new software to play the clip. When I click ok, it says that there is no software available to support the content. When I click on details it gives me this: ICM.WMV3.

Thanks...

That’s Windows Media Video 9.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/format/codecdownload.aspx
Last download on the page. (Assuming you’re using a PC)

I have the same problem with the codec like Swordsman had. Although I installed the codecs for the media player, it still shows an error saying that I need that special codec: FOURCC code “WMV3” and a Tag255. What should I do?

(to chrism)
first make sure you have the codec installed
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/format/codecdownload.aspx (last package)
then to play ogm files download an alternate player, such as media player classic (www.gabest.org - follow the links) or videolan (www.videolan.org).
If you absolutely insist on playing the file in windows media player you can follow the steps here http://ld-anime.faireal.net/guide/ogm-en

(to kazwa)
what’s the container of the file you’re trying to play? is it asf or avi? (if you’re unsure use avicodec from http://avicodec.duby.info) if it’s avi you need the LAST package on this page http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/format/codecdownload.aspx If it still doesn’t play I suspect the avi is truncated, in which case get media player classic or avipreview. As for tag 255, search for it on the audio codec board.

I’m trying to watch a Full Metal Panic vidoeo, but the problem is that it tells me that I am missing a icm.wmv3. I have the video play fine, but there is no sound. By the way i’m using the Real Player.
